Our Slinger Signaller course can be completed by individuals with any experience level. If you have no prior experience in Slinger Signalling, we recommend you take our Novice course so you can develop a good understanding of what the role of a Slinger Signaller entails. 

For more experienced individuals who have no formal training, you could enrol on our Existing course to ensure you have received formal training and are equipped with the knowledge and skills in line with other Slingers in your industry. 

Our Refresher course is aimed at individuals who already have formal training but want to freshen up their knowledge and ensure it is up to date.

What is a Slinger Signaller?

A Slinger Signaller plays a crucial role on a construction site. Their main purpose is to safely direct crane operators to load, transport and unload items. Essentially, they are the eyes and ears of crane operators who may have an obstructed view. You must have good observation skills and concentration to perform this role, as you have to be aware of your surroundings to ensure the safety of yourself, the operator and other employees on the site. 

 

Is Slinger Signaller Training Compulsory?

Slinger Signaller training is not compulsory under laws and regulations, but we do recommend anyone wanting to become a slinger signaller take a specialist Slinger Signaller course to ensure they have a deep understanding of what is expected of them and how to carry out their role safely.
