Emergency First Aid at Work

Our Emergency First Aid at Work course equips employees with vital skills to handle workplace injuries and illnesses. Individuals will learn how to assess incidents, perform CPR and treat common workplace injuries. This course meets Health and Safety regulations as set out by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.

Course Content

This course will cover the Emergency First Aid at Work syllabus, plus:

  • Medical Emergencies such as Heart Attacks, Strokes, Diabetes, Asthma 
  • Management of Injuries such as Head Injuries, spinal, Fractures, Sprains and Strains 
  • and More

Duration

Typically, this course is delivered in one day. However, if staff availability is an issue, the Emergency First Aid at Work training course can be delivered over several days. 

Certification

Certification is dependent on the student’s successful continuous assessment. There is no final exam. Students who complete the course and are deemed to have reached the required standard are issued a certificate that is valid for three years.

Paediatric First Aid (Level 3 Award)

Our Paediatric First Aid course prepares caregivers to confidently handle emergencies involving infants and children. Individuals will learn how to assess and respond to various situations, including choking, burns and allergic reactions. This training course is ideal for childcare professionals, teachers, parents, and others who work with children. The course will be delivered by an instructor with the appropriate qualifications and approvals. 

Course Structure

This first aid course consists of an online part and a practical session. You will complete a total of 12 learning hours. This is a face-to-face course which takes place either across one day or 3 days. It can take place at one of our training centres or on your business premises. 

Please Note: The prices quoted include the cost of the sessions, plus a paediatric first aid handbook, and certification which is valid for three years.​

First Aid at Work

Our First Aid at Work course covers a range of first aid emergencies that you may encounter in your workplace. It gives individuals the confidence to handle any emergency situation in a prompt, safe, and effective manner. This course will give the participants a qualification at the highest level of first aid, meeting the statutory requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. 

Course Content

This course will cover subjects including:

  • Wounds and Bleeding
  • Shock
  • Minor Injuries
  • Choking
  • Fractures
  • Sprains and Strains
  • And more… 

Certification

There will be question papers and practical assessments to pass. Successful candidates will be awarded an HSE recognised First Aid at Work certificate that is valid for 3 years.

After 3 years, certificates will need to be renewed by attending an First Aid at Work Requalification course to requalify. The HSE also recommends that workplace first aiders attend an annual refresher courses in between their requalification date to maintain their first aid skills.

 

First Aid at Work

The twoday First Aid at Work requalification course allows First Aid at Work qualified staff to re-validate their certificate for a further 3 years. Attendees must have a valid (not out of date by more than 28 days) First Aid at Work certificate.

This course includes an end-of-course candidate review through written, practical, and oral assessments to assess whether you have passed.

Duration

This course will take up to two days. It will include theoretical and practical sessions with question papers at the end.  

Certification

Successful candidates will be awarded a new HSErecognised First Aid at Work certificate, which is valid for three years.
